Windows defender? I get an error message on reboot saying windows defender failed to launch. I have done everything pitstop suggested and the puter is working faster, but I still can't open a new page from a link (except your links above).

The window opens but stop loading. Also my address book on yahoo mail won't open.

Might upgrading to ie 7 solve the windows defender problem? I running xp home edition.

Thanks for your past help. I have uninstalled Norton and its update program but get an error message trying to uninstall Copernic desktop search.
