But if there's a gap up, doesn't the limit order go for the prevailing price? So, just from a timing perspective, if a stock gaps up one morning beyond your limit sell order, it'll trigger but above the limit. With that said, we're talking hypothetical dollar(s) so that wouldn't happen in one morning and you'd miss out any subsequent gains over the next days/weeks, etc.
