One of my Black Heroes is H. Phillip Randolph. One of the bravest of workers for civil rights. He organized the Pullman Porter's Union in the 1920s annd 30s. His life was constantly at risk
In the1970s he regularly spoke at Black Colleges. His message was personal responsibly. If that message exists today, I never hear it.
My favorite of his messages.
He was closing an address to an all Black audience. He had talked about all the sacrifices that had been made on the behalf of his young audience. He pleaded with them to not waste that which had been given to them. He was sickened that so much of the curriculum was in Black Studies
I'll paraphrase:
"When you leave here and are being interviewed for a job, there is something you will never be asked.
