I've seen four different dentists in the last 10-12 yrs, and none of them accepted insurance - that's the norm now. Can't believe it's legal for a hospital to demand cash on service - negotiated rates with insurance are WAY lower than the cash prices they demand - that's why some people who get injured w/o insurance go BK, hospital charges them full boat, not the discounted price insurance gets. I saw a PT for a while that I paid cash for services rendered because Medicare doesn't cover chronic condition PT, she only charged me what she knew she'd get if Medicare did cover it - but that turned out to be a violation of Medicare rules so I couldn't see her anymore - sucks. Medicare requires all health providers that take Medicare patients to bill them even if it doesn't cover the procedure - where the hell is the sense in that?
