Ripper, here is some ancient history for you. The link is to the Patrick Cox article from 2008 on Anavex that got me to invest then, not 2009, as well as possibly, Tdeank1, who stated an investment in AVXL since then, too.

When I read this 12½ years later, I am amazed at the visionary that Dr. V was/is and Cox's understanding of the possible magnitude of the Anavex pipeline, though somewhat timid in stating its potential to dominate the CNS arena ... but, then again, this was 2008. Another notable, Dr. Durrant, now CEO at HGEN, is very forthcoming of the Anavex potential as he saw it up close as a director.

While there is a lot to like in this article, the one quote that I always thought convinced me to invested, as my favorite aunt died of AD in 1987, is this one:

Talking to Anavex insiders, it is clear that the company is looking at this big picture. Dr. Cameron Durrant, a board member, told me flatly that “Anavex will be world leader in the understanding and development of drugs based on sigma receptors.”

Though the leadership has change over the years, the potential never waivered and Dr. Durrant will be considered a prophet when all is said and done ... and may he be successful with HGEN, too!
