John Burba et al creates direct extraction technology the patents belong to Simbol. Simbol goes bankrupt and Alger Alternative Energy gets access to the intellectual property.

Sorcia Minerals has a contract with Alger Alternative Energy (AAE) for perpetual license to use all of AAE intellectual property (IP) in Chile, and perhaps Argentina.

AAE undergoes leadership change and tries to back out of the contract made with Sorcia. AAE parent tries to file for bankruptcy to get out of contract. Sorcia sues in Texas southern district court. After the judge orders summons Sorcia drops the suit, apparently because they settled outside of court.

Scoria has the rights to use the direct extraction technology in chili and maybe Argentina. This IP was originally invented by Burba but is now owned by AAE and is the same IP that Lilac Solutions use and has access to. Sorcia has connections to key lithium oportunity in Chile. Sorcia needs a technology partner to turn the IP into a engineered extraction unit. Sorcia finds International battery metals (ibat) is currently working on doing that exact thing but more focused on oil well brine. Sorcia sees potential with partnering with ibat because Sorcia eventually wants to do direct lithium extraction outside of Chile and Argentina but is currently restricted from using the IP it has access to outside of these areas. if Sorcia can have a synergistic partnership with ibat then they can succeed in Chile and Argentina and generate new IP for use in the USA and other countries.

Sorcia is licensing ibat IP for the engineered mobile extraction unit from ibat which acquired its IP from SAL. All ibat IP is patent pending. Right after ibat aquired SAL IP Burba said the patent pending IP will secure their technology in the US and eventually abroad.

Sorcia partnerships.

1. Contractual access to AAE direction lithium extraction IP for use in Chile and Argentina.

2. Technological Agreement for the development of the lithium process with Enami which is the National Mining Company of Chile

3. Cooperation agreement for research, development and innovation with the UNIVERSITY OF SANTIAGO OF CHILE (USACH) to validate the first mobile extraction unit.

4. Finally Sorcia is partnered with ibat which is a keystone partner for Sorcia with will help bring the IP to be a commercial success in Chile and Argentina and will lead the way for securing IP for use in USA and the rest of the world.

known patent info.

1. Mobile extraction array with brine constituent separation, purification, and concentration

This patent is pending, its been having a rough time in the examiners office but hopefully Burba can get it granted. This patent was invented by burba and two shareholders of SAL who are Borgese and Privitera. The assignee is International Battery Metals the only current known patent which ibat is the assignee. If this patent is granted it will secure ibat IP in the USA just like burba said after ibat bought SAL IP in 2018.

2. Enhanced Surface Area Dependent Functional Material from Combinational Manufacture with Industrial Hemp for Removing Lithium and Other Constituents from Brine

The inventors are listed as Borgese and Privitera this patent is also pending, it does not say the assignee is ibat but one might assume it is part of the SAL IP which ibat owns. This patent application has just recently been sent to the examiner and has yet to have any response from the examiner. Also like the first patent if this patent is granted it will likely be able to secure ibat IP in the USA.

3. Method for Control of Packed Bed Extraction Systems

The inventors are listed as Borgese and Privitera this patent is also pending, it does not say the assignee is ibat but one might assume it is part of the SAL IP which ibat owns. This patent application alone might not be enough to secure ibat IP in the USA for use of direct extraction of lithium, but it seems like it does fix a key problem that likely happens when you are doing direct lithium extraction using pressurized brine from wells.

Overall.

ibat has de-risked its stock due to the partner it has with Sorcia, Sorcia has contractual rights to use AAE ip in chili and perhaps Argentina. If ibat can secure direct lithium extraction IP in the USA and else where it will make this company a MEGA big deal. I think that ibat will ultimately succeed in securing its IP in the USA and else because Burba was the one who invented it in the first place and if anyone is going to do it, it is him. I am not convinced that the first patent listed above will succeed in getting granted because of the trouble he is having with the examiner. The second patent I listed I think has a lot better chance because it seems so novel. I am not a patent attorney just my two cents. The third patent i listed will be the cherry on top and father protection of their IP.

TLDR: Ibat is de-risked, undervalued, and a diamond in the rough. 2021 is the breakout year for ibat. I am long and strong with IBAT. cheers to all the longs in here, you picked a good one. And I whole heartedly welcome our recent new investors now is a great price to buy in and join the ride.
