We know MAXD was never paid even $1.00 from Netflix. So presumably MAXD dropped their Netflix lawsuit because they expected to lose.
You can be sure the Judge is not making public statements showing bias against Google. Unless you think Google's lawyers are too incompetent to demand a recusal in such a situation.
It's unlikely that Google ever offered to pay MAXD anything. But if it happened, MAXD should have accepted. Instead, MAXD now owes Google $820,000 after Google won the lawsuit.
I can't say I'd be surprised if incompetent CFO Greg Halpern fumbled a settlement offer FROM Google so badly that it turns into a $820,000 bill owed TO Google. Woopsie daisy!
Google from what I hear offered a monetary settlement and maxd refused it. Google is also asking for mediation now, Netflix was also added to the case. From what I heard the judge said this is the big guy killing the little guy. This is not over, but I do not know how it ends.
