We are about to embark on an upward trajectory the likes of what we have not seen since going long on this stock, nearly 6 years ago.
Its been a long journey until now but - here is what is up ahead.
While I'm excited about the forthcoming data releases for Rett, PDD and AD - what I am most excited about, given my day job as a clinical epileptologist, is what lies ahead in several years with this company who, by now, it seems is going the "going it alone" approach to become a "big pharma" in its own right - little Anavex.
When you have the courage of your own convictions - you gain confidence in knowing what the future holds before your extraneous and traditional-practicing peers do. While they mock you for "thinking outside the box" in the present because "so and so" has "never done things that way", you quietly and confidently proceed with your proof of concept. You get punched and stumble a bit, but you never fall down - you never give up.
Little by little, the "peers" start noticing you and their laughs, loud and mocking at first, turn more into that nervous chuckle. The "hardy har har" before the back slapping stops and before the pain comes.
Suddenly, you explode with success. Success that you were anticipating when you set out on your lonely journey, many moons ago is finally realized - but much more than you could have ever imagined.
My investment has become emotional and sympbolic because, this investment has matched exactly the circumstances of my career and business - along the same timeline.
For both Anavex and my personal business - 2021 will be a banner year. The future - even more so.
The scourge of neurodegenerative disease will finally have a foe that can fight back. Vanquish dementia and then, lets turn towards epilepsy.
Much more to come but I have a feeling, pretty soon - many of my patients will be taking the medication, blarcamesine (or whatever the name of it branded will be), and I will be very proud and confident to prescribe it to them.
Gentlemen and ladies - the games have begun and its our time to shine.
