This is an aspect of NWBO investing that gets overlooked.

The desire to good while getting rich is very powerful and that dynamic plays out with NWBO.

Since at least the advent of Christianity successful people have been told that they did not create their own success but owe it to a higher power, it used to be God and now is the government. Also, both the Church and now many secular politicians taught that one’s wealth was not earned but in one way or another stolen from the poor. Naturally you have to hand back a large part of your money to the church or government to make things right - tithing abs wealth redistribution.

While naked force, imposing social disapproval, and delegitimizing one’s property rights have always been key to extracting money from hard working people guilt is a huge factor.

With guilt, you can get successful people to knuckle under with a lot less effort because while you push from without, they cave from within.

Earning money by curing cancer though allows one to earn money in a way that one can feel good about. One took a risk and helped bring a lifesaving treatment to market when most others sat on the sidelines. Any money from that is guilt free and can be enjoyed and spent without feeling selfish and can be celebrated without feeling greedy.

The desire to do good, and get guilt free riches is a powerful one and that is why so many people invest in NWBO instead of just giving to a cancer research foundation or to UCLA etc.
