Sorry Zoro I really didn't mean to direct this at you specifically.

This illusion of a Noble Savage has infiltrated our thought process bastardized our perceptions of reality causing us to proceed upon false notions of self loathing guilt when in fact it dates back to Tacticus and then more recently Rousseau as a method of distinguishing and controlling the classes. The peasant, the common folk, we are the Noble Savage not the American Indians. The great romanticist Rousseau argued that scientific advance had not improved the species and offered up primitivism. Voltaire argued that Rousseau "wanted us to walk on all four and behave like savages believing them creatures of perfection."

Then low and behold the American Indian came along and the Noble Savage was a real thing. Rousseau's romanticism and critique of class coupled with the discovery of what was simply an ‘idea’ inspired the first utopias. I.e communist societies

The Nobel Savage is simply an abstraction. And as I said previously it has done nothing but subjugate. We experienced this in America during the sixties and we still pay for it today. The rail against society, the social and economical elite versus the middle and lower class citizen, how do we maintain and control and stop the masses from taking our power and wealth and the march towards primitivism. That is what the Noble Savage is all about.

The rejection of the graces and luxuries of civilized existence, the rejection of morality by claiming humans to be amoral creatures not worthy of being the material for "building a society or running a government" was Rousseau's social contract with the people. The American Indian was used to perpetrate an illusion dating back over 17 centuries.
