Ahhh..so she read the computer algorithm interpretation at the top of her ekg and assumes she has had a heart attack at some point. Goto Med school. Then residency. Then work for 20 years...then you may give an opinion. Geebus. Had a patient yesterday who we gave lab copies to and they were completely obsessed about their creatinine being 1.04 and the RDW being 15.9%. Ridiculous. Everyone needs to chill. And a “ stress fracture on rib X-rays” is not a real thing. We all like to hear what we want to hear but often not the truth. Telling the truth in the ED often leads to poor patient satisfaction and lots of emails from the higher ups. It’s pathetic. I’m not saying I condone being a prick...but honestly, it’s getting pretty bad out there.
We on the front lines are starting to crack. The number of patients I’ve seen lately with just plain neurotic anxiety is becoming overwhelming. Guess that’s what a year of stress does to humanity. Deep breath. Ok,,, all better. Or at least that’s what I tell myself.

Hmm we do like to hear what we want to hear.
