Question:

I have recently set up half my portfolio to AIM. I've been a lurker here for a long time. I've read Mr. Lichello's book and I've read material on this board extensively. I've been retired for almost two years but I haven't started withdrawals from the portfolio because my wife is still working. She may be retiring at the end of this year but doesn't know yet. When she does retire we will begin withdrawals from the portfolio.

The AIM part of my portfolio is somewhat like the Permanent Portfolio:

39 % Equities. This is primarily sector funds, no individual stocks.
10.4% Gold and silver (IAU and SLV), mostly IAU.
10.4% TLT.
6% Income ETF's (PCEF and BEN).

I use AIM for all these holdings. I just set the portfolio up a few days ago and I've already had sells on XLE and VBI.

My question to Mr. Veale or other experienced Aim users is if the cash holding of 34.2% is high or low? I feel it may be too high because the portfolio is diversified with gold, silver, and long term treasuries. But I would appreciate any opinions. Thank you in advance!

Greg
