I’d venture the vast majority of ekg’s in people over 50 in the ED are somewhat abnormal compared to a standard or a prior. It does not mean the patient is having a heart attack that day and visit. That’s the point of that test for that visit. We are not there to get you cholesterol checked. Or your PSA. I rarely tell a patient their ekg is stone cold normal. I say it looks OK...in the context of that days visit. None of us know the facts here which is why I WAS quiet. But as this continues, I’m getting aggravated. Secondly...all discharge papers have instructions to follow up. That’s on the patient. Sue sue sue...so tiring. Mistakes and ignorance are present on the behalf all of us...I’m still learning after 20 years. Nothing more to say....xcept go prepare it. Go amrn. V for life.
