Simple answer: synergy. Read the preclinical animal models where 2-73 and donepezil proved, in some way to be synergistic. Results with both drugs were better then either one on its own. In these studies the quantity of donepezil was minuscule, compared to soc dosing. It’s why they have an Anavex Plus patent. The synergy observed in murine models apparently didn’t carry over to humans. It never added up to me because in our trials patients simply continued taking donepezil. They did not use the anavexplus dosing (micro dose of donepezil) which showed such strong efficacy in animal models.
