Ypsilanti, MI, October 15, 2018 – London-based Nurokor, Ltd. has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with NuroKor-USA to market bioelectrical medical devices and systems that will give Americans a proven alternative to pharmaceuticals for managing pain.
According to Dr Julian Grove, president of the Arizona Pain Society and an advisor who worked with Arizona State on prescribing rules, "A lot of practitioners are reducing opioid medications, not from a clinical perspective, but more from a legal and regulatory perspective for fear of investigation," Grove has said. "No practitioner wants to be the highest prescriber”
NuroKor-USA president John Nycz is a passionate voice for change and knows first-hand the potential of bioelectrical medicine.
After injury complications from a head-on collision in 1995, broken bones failed to heal and he was facing orthopedic surgery that would leave him with mobility-limiting joint fusion. Nycz researched his alternatives and found studies that indicated bioelectronic therapies stimulated bone growth. He sought out a physician who was also an acupuncturist. The opioids had caused Ruffer other side effects, including upsetting his balance.

Not only did his physician approve the use of PNS for pain relief, he instructed Ruffer to ‘fire’ up his forearm muscles using Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, mitigating any scar tissue developing from the reattached tendons and ligaments.

Pain is rampant among veterans. Nearly 60 percent of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are affected by chronic pain, as are more than 50 percent of older veterans. From 2001 to 2013, the VA dispensed opioids as the default pain remedy and prescriptions went up 270 percent while the number of patients rose less than 40 percent.
That’s no longer the case as they seek out and make available healthier options.

These devices are FDA cleared for OTC (Over-The-Counter) sales, but can also be prescribed, which means they may be reimbursable.
