Early in my career at Intel Corp. I was tempted to join a startup dealing with advanced stepper technology. When I took the hook and left, my manager said "if you want to come back, please contact me first". I said "Thank you" and left.

Shortly after joining the new firm, a new investor bought into the company, They were Jesus freaks. Every staff meeting began with a prayer. I wasted no time in taking my old manager at Intel up on his offer.

The J freaks bled the stepper company dry. Ended up with charges against them.
