I listened to a presentation by one of the GBM researchers who treats patients with targeted radiation. He made the comment that longer OS for GBM patients is due to slowing the tumor down by impeding the movement of the GBM cells. Yes, he pointed out that GBM tumors physically move from areas where nutrients have been depleted (consumed) by the tumor to areas that have not, and that the movement is not very slow and is sort of like how inch worms move. This neurologist stated that the fields produced by the nvcr cap somehow impede the movement of the GBM. His radiation technique similarly slows down the GBM movement by radiating the brain tissue pathways that the tumor cells would travel along (analogous to creating a moat or barrier to the cells’ movement.)
