Don’t forget that the FDA has granted Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA) for several drugs to try to address the Covid pandemic. If Brilacidin performs well against Covid in the upcoming trial, I expect it will also get an EUA. The federal government is also purchasing significant quantities of any approved drug that appears to work even minimally against a Covid. I expect that US purchase, and purchases by other governments around the world, will provide the funding necessary to complete any Phase 3 trials needed. The recent Merck deal (link below) for $356,000,000 ($3,560 per dose) is an example of what I’m talking about.
