Please understand that I have no insight into fundamentals or TA. I’ve never looked at WAVX’s financials, nor would I understand them. Besides end user passwords, the integrity of the HW platform has been the weak link for quite some time. I like this company because I recognize that the TPM initiative plugs MANY security holes if properly implemented.

My guess is that adoption of this next level will be slow out of the gate; we just don’t have enough qualified Admins to implement and support this structure. This fact alone may suppress revenues for a while.

Additionally, I don’t think CIO’s are going to go out and scrap a productive asset that isn’t completely secure because of recent INFOSEC developments. My comments about the 2010 date stem primarily from the typical refresh cycles and business drivers that influence funding decisions. I deal with regulators and auditors frequently; they are quite content to know that I recognize the issues and have placeholders on my strategic plan to address them in the future.

My EVP and CEO still look at the numbers first. The second metric for them seems to be whether or not the old HW or SW still has some residual book value.

For me, I’m at a point where funding for projects isn’t a major constraint; I don’t have the talent nor man hours available to implement them. The other major constraint is trying to implement all these projects without disrupting our current business flow…this is the most challenging of all. These soft costs typically far exceed the CAPEX of anything we implement at the desktop.

Speaking to future revenue growth, I think we are seeing the mere tip of the iceberg over the next three years. I plan on investing in this technology because of the paradigmatic sift that I see. I suspect that soon, you won’t be able to purchase a PC without a TPM in it. I further suspect that you won’t be able to install future OS’s unless there is a TPM on the PCB. Both of these concepts where discussed very seriously for a couple of hours at that SANS conference.

It doesn’t take much imagination to see that we are being pushed down the path of globalized DRM. The TPM will allow DRM to be controlled right to the endpoint…no matter what platform it is. One day soon, we will wake up to a ubiquitously connected world that will only function...FOR YOU...if you have paid your license fees...end game.
