"2006 Citizen of the Year" New ACAC Fitness & Wellness Center General Manager

West Chester, PA - ACAC Fitness and Wellness Center, a comprehensive fitness and wellness facility committed to providing state of the art facilities and programs, announced today the appointment of Charles "Rip" Tilden as General Manager of the company’s West Chester operation. Tilden, a member of ACAC since December 2004, brings to the company more than 30 years of leadership experience in a variety of industries and a long track record of community leadership in the Philadelphia region.

Tilden has been President of his own management consulting firm, Tilden Associates, for the last year where he has worked with a variety of small companies on strategy, business and market expansion, organizational development and communications matters. Prior to that, he served for ten years in leadership positions with InterDigital Communications Corporation of King of Prussia, PA, and was the Chief Operating Officer of the company from 2001-- 2005. During those years, InterDigital’s revenues grew by more than 500% and its market value increased from $250 million to more than $1 billion. Prior to joining InterDigital, Tilden held leadership positions with Ikon Office Solutions, an office products company, and GenCorp, an aerospace/defense, automotive and polymer products company. He is also currently an Adjunct Professor in the Fox School of Business at Temple University, where he has taught the course in Entrepreneurial Thinking.

Tilden said he is pleased to join the ACAC team. "ACAC has a fabulous reputation in the community and I’m absolutely thrilled to join this team. It will be a privilege to work with all of my colleagues to help the club continue to grow and expand its service in the community," said Tilden.

A leader in business and in the community, Tilden was named 2006 Citizen of the Year by the Berwyn/Devon (PA) Business Association. He currently serves as President of the Berwyn Fire Company and Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign of St. Peter’s Church (Episcopal) in Paoli, PA.
