Well they control a lot of the voting power. Just this year they issued 4M shares of convertible preferred to themself/southshore to buy planes. They have a provision where they get first dibs on any dilution, or at least they did, so they could keep raising money by issuing shares to themself.

As for shady they can raise salaries to themself. Pay themself in stock bonuses. Issue preferred to themself for "consulting". Many shady things happen in the spotlight.

yes if they sell the company shareholders can sue and may win to get paid out more. But that could take years to go through the courts.

I'm not saying management will do all these things. But they can and some do. There are cheap stocks out there that stay cheap because management is horrible
