Why apologize where it's good for you and invited here. Because you feel like it. Understood. Still, you are not putting others out so no need. One little next step to feel, maybe, don't feel like apologizing where it's not called for. That can grow too. Even still, if you feel like it, do it.

I'm lucky it never got to a disease for me. Had an uncle once, for whom it really was for. One drink and 3-4 days later he'd be in some sort of hospital. Had been off it for 2-3 years, then one Christmas a guy at the boat moorings place asked him onto his for one. He knew, but thought one. Couldn't stop and three days later in a care bed.

You aren't as bad as that one was. He was a real alcoholic. Many who say they are more, i feel, just have a drinking problem.

Yesterday i got into a downer. Just happens. LOL you would never guess which movie helped. Yep

Tried A Thin Red Line and a couple of others. Ended on that one for a 2nd or 3rd time. It has everything.

Then with minutes to go to the booze shop to give the weekly scratchies thank you tickets to the one helping me not to play pokies. She was busy so just soaked in a little shot of sunshine (SOS) watching her serving for seconds and left the scratchies with another. Then to the Vietnamese deli bit farther up with just a couple of minutes to spare to 8pm. They had run out of rolls so bought some chicken curry, without rice. They only charge me $5 for that now. Then stopped to chat with an old friend who struggles on a walker, yet never complains. She was doing what she does on many days, sitting just outside her front door saying hi to all those walking by. Sad there's a sense of a little dementia there. Then home to cook vegetables (saying vegies still doesn't feel as comfortable as it should before now. Same with the aussi Chrisi). That little curry chicken will last me 3 meals. Heaps of vegies and with a piece of bread is plenty for one. Then crashed about 11pm, up at 5.

Your food bank work is good stuff. Most all of us - 'cept those like Trump - feel good when doing things for others. That's all positive.

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
