Probably folks who bought or received shares early on, when the OS count was much lower, and the shares were worth more. Reverse splits reduced the total number. I have a stock just like that where my original 1,500 share stake is now approximately 7 shares. After I took a severe beating, (about 10 yrs ago), I figured my remaining downside was almost nil, so why sell. Actually the price has recovered a bit since then, but I've still lost a significant percentage of my original investment. That's what happened to many of the early shareholders of this stock (as well as those of us who got in much later).
