It's more than just a couple of months. A Biontech just doesn't find $2B laying around. The experience Pfizer has interfacing with the FDA, chopped off months. Probably even more important, the ability of a Pfizer to ramp up GMP manufacturing quickly.

They simply all know that they have a gamechanger, cancer will be addressed most in future, vaccines are just a small part of it.
