If you shorted at anything under $300, you may as well close out your position. You are probably NOT going to turn a profit on it.

I am not an analyst, but think that the improving fundamentals may support a price above $300.

Here is a simplistic analysis:

P/E at current price based on 4X Q3 2020 earnings = 585.76/2.84 = about 210.

Ally Invest shows it at 983.15 based on God knows what! (see https://research.tradeking.com/research/quotes/fundamentals.asp?mcsymbol=tsla)

P/E at price of $300 based on 4X projected Q4 earnings = 300/3.60 = about 80.

By comparison, AMZN P/E = about 91.

Since we know that TSLA earnings should be higher in 2021 than 2020, the forward P/E is rather low.
