gf, a buyout will have nothing to do with the current stock price. It will be about project sales for each year discounted to present value. I have seen stocks at $4 get bought out at $18 about 6 weeks later, so is a buyout happening tomorrow? No, but if one is to be had, the stock will quickly move up in a few short weeks...months prior to the news. A buyout doesn't happen in a vacuum.
