It's an old link, but site used to say they had successfully produced a prototype. I called Oak Ridge a number of years ago and they said they couldn't comment beyond what was posted. What is really odd is that this is a huge achievement. Do a search and you won't find an equivalent. I imagine it works by the same principal as bouncing a laser mic off a plane of glass. The acoustical signature would give you the diagnostic info. Interestingly enough this same system could tell you also if a bearing was going bad or a drivetrain was wearing down. Could alert you to an electrical short or other mechanical/electrical faults. Interesting that the company went dark?? The application is obvious. Don't have any idea if this stock is associated with this or not. But, if you are going to have autonomous electric vehicles in the future then you are going to have to have the tech to detect faults before they happen. If for no other reason than liability.
