As infections as this disease is, I am amazed that more people have not contracted it by now . The spread of airborne infections typically is much faster than this one has been. Eventually nearly all people who do anything much outside their homes in the area of other people will have come in with it. There is no practical way for most of us to avoid it, masks notwithstanding.
Public schools are wonderful places for such an airborne disease to spread. Typically, an newer building is enclosed with a recirculating air system. As an example, use the common cold which is similar to this covid 19 virus in the way it spreads. When I was teaching, I would usually come down with five or more colds a year, and almost never missed the flu (even after getting the flu shot). Now that I have retired from teaching, I get very few colds.
