I was one of those novice investors. However I will say it was a great education on dilution for me. I didn't even know what that meant when I first invested here. So now I've saved a ton of money I would have lost by knowing how to immediately bail on a stock 90% of the time if they announce dilution. Sometimes maybe not even 10% however dilution can be good to avoid bankruptcy. GL.
