I called a broker other than Ameritrade today and was told that AANI is available for long positions via online trading.

Why is Ameritrade restricting long trades? Perhaps a business partner of TDA has borrowed all the shares they could round up short (and then some)? AANI is not on the Reg SHO list as of last Friday, FWIW:

I looked at the Interactive Brokers shortable list. You will see a number of shortable OTCBB stocks that are under a dollar on this list. However, AANI is not on this list, which means it is NOT available for shorting with Interactive Brokers:

This says nothing about long positions, only short ones.
