Interestingly enough, it seems it's the season for acquisitions over at $LLY.

About a week ago, they bought Disarm Therapeutics.

I found this particular part of information to be really interesting:

Under the terms of the agreement, Lilly will acquire Disarm for an upfront payment of $135.0 million. Disarm equityholders may be eligible for up to $1.225 billion in additional future payments for potential development, regulatory and commercial milestones should Lilly successfully develop and commercialize new medicines resulting from the acquisition.

"Lilly continues to seek medicines to treat the debilitating pain and loss of function associated with nerve damage," said Mark Mintun, M.D., vice president of pain and neurodegeneration research at Lilly. "The scientific team at Disarm discovered an important and highly promising approach to combat axonal degeneration. We will move quickly to develop their SARM1 inhibitors into potential medicines for peripheral neuropathy and neurological diseases, such as ALS and multiple sclerosis."

The key words they used in the announcement actually have a lot to say.

This is the picture I see..

Lilly discovers Disarm has "discovered an important and highly promising approach" and they would like to "develop and commercialize " it.

Now replace Disarm Therapeutics with "$ENZC/BCLS."

My grand point in this post is that Lilly bought Disarm up front without knowing if they were even going to be successful in developing and commercializing from where Disarm leaves off. What attracted them to the deal was that Disarm had "discovered an important and highly promising approach."

They already dropped the HINT that they have already spoken with them about CLONE3.
