The advantages of BMG over traditional metals and processes are tremendous for many applications. The challenges of manufacturing metallic glass will be overcome.
Professor Li taking this on is what is necessary in making this class of materials become a reality.
Look at the challenges faced in the early production of aluminum, and similarly, look at the history of plastics. Amorphous alloys will make a huge difference in the future of manufacturing product capabilities.
BMG will continue to move forward with new alloys and manufacturing techniques and applications.
What companies (or other entities) are successful with it remains to be seen, but it is time for some of us to place some bets.
