Perhaps Buffett's trying to maintain an active market for BRK debt in case he needs to borrow a gigantic amount very quickly... as for instance if he'd want to outbid someone and acquire all of Apple. (wouldn't that shake things up?).

BRK is very strong AND they have the ability to borrow even more cash very quickly.
