Options are given out like candy. Costs him nothing out of pocket. Very different than buying stock with your own money. Not sure what you mean by “fully”invested” in this context. Missing is already a multi-millionaire and gets a fat salary from Anavex. The options are gravy. If it doesn’t work out with Anavex, he’s still very wealthy.
