That's how market makers make their money. It's the small spread difference in what they buy and sell for. There is a lot of false info given on this board regarding MM manipulation and them 'buying up shares to hold', lol. It's a lot of urban legend that's been proven untrue as long as the internets been around. I've known some MM's. They make their money on the spread. They can manipulate the prices a little bit if they need to when they get out of balance. But stocks go up and down based on buying and selling pressure.
