Nobody is claiming that WMIH Corp went through an "Ownership Change" in 2018...the only one asserting that people are doing this is YOU.

What jw, claw and others are insisting is that there was simply a "NAME CHANGE" where WMIH Corp was "RENAMED" the MrCooperGroupInc...the end!

This means that WMIH Corp does not exist as a separate entity but rather simply exists as before but under it's new name, the MrCooperGroupInc.

The LEI guidelines clearly states that a NAME CHANGE is allowed and a new LEI is required ONLY if a new entity is created...this clearly did not happen.

The above standard is proven by the fact that WMIH Corp is still listed as the LEI holder and the MrCooperGroupInc has no LEI number, ie they are the same entity, not separate.



3.4. Update of LEI-CDF record– Legal Name changed


The legal name of an entity may change. If the change of the legal entity name is due to the formation of a new legal entity, then a new LEI has to be issued (Use Case Issue New LEI) and the Successor Entity/Successor LEI field of the old LEI record has to be published with the new LEI (Use case Legal entity merging or retiring). This case only applies where the legal name changes and the legal entity remains an operating entity.
