I am so glad for you. Not everyone is as lucky as you, though. I haven't lost any family members. However, coming from a minority group, I unfortunately know of too many families/friends that have been impacted.
I do count my blessings in that I was able to work from home for the last few years, so since COVID-19 hit I've been able to stay out of the main stream. Like you, I do go out to the stores without much fear, but I do take a lot of precautions: wearing my mask, sanitizing my hands often, safe distancing, etc. With diabetes and asthma, I can’t afford bravado.
My neighbor is a nurse and she contracted COVID at the hospital. After four months, she is still trying to recuperate. I feel bad for first-line people like her. She takes real offense against the people that dismiss COVID. She says many people say “if I catch COVID, it’s my problem,” but then go to the hospitals crying for their lives. The people taking care of them get exposed and pay the price. My prayers and appreciation goes out to all first responders!
BTW, love your posts. Keep them coming, as I’ve learned a lot from you.
