It has been long expected that Intel would counter AMD's K8 design by shipping 90nm product in volume in Q4 - in time to impact the Q4 sales significantly.

Doesn't look likely now. We call that 'late'.

Now, a 1 quarter slip in this sort of schedule is not to be unexpected. Q4 is a bad quarter to miss, though.
