Could Du's decision be based on a more fundamental premise? Could she have disregarded all of the studies because she believes V is just non-patentable fish oil? If so, the prime directive then becomes how do you validate V as a new chemical entity and then follow on with the scientific evidence of unique efficacy. Her basic belief must be invalidated to succeed. Just a thought.
