When we went out we set two 3 trap string for shrimp and then a set of 2 strings 3 traps for crab on both. Then we would troll to the islands and pick oysters then troll back and check the shrimp and crab traps. We got a lot of shrimp. Not many good size salmon in the straight, but when we went to the outside of the Island we would troll way out and jig for halibut. Good times. Sure miss him.
