These "so called" conferences are not for the current shareholders ....

They usually are to encourage future shareholders.

These "so called" conferences drive shareholders crazy because traders tend to have their way with the share price around the time of the presentation, often to the down side.

"So called" shareholders often get gifts from these "so called" conferences when the traders drive their price down because they can acquire shares at a cheaper level, but seldom can take advantage due to being "all in" and already "pot committed" with their current portfolio, with no more funds to expend.

There are many ways to make, and to lose money with stocks. The mechanisms that you need to utilize to effectively support your position are very dependent upon the focus you have. Quite often, investors engage in counterproductive activities that inadvertently support traders ..... then publicly complain about it due to their naivete'.
