Electric vehicles are fighting with thermodynamics at every step which imposes a big energy tax every time the energy changes state.

An efficiency Tax From power grid electricity to chemical storage in a battery.

An efficiency Tax when the stored chemical energy is again converted into electricity.


LA-DWP is building a 2,650 acre 400 MW solar panel project in Kern County with 1,200 MW of battery storage - 72 hours of electrical output stored. This is not very energy efficient, but it's cheap at 3.3 cents per kilowatt hour.
