As far as the fires are concerned, NGW's facility in Coalinga is in no danger whatsoever. It is many, many miles from the Sierra Nevada fires. More than a hundred miles away.
Right now the most serious of the fires is the Creek Fire. Over the past ten years countless millions of douglas firs have perished from bark beetle infestation. Now these are all just dry fuel and there is little that can be done to curb the fires until the weather turns. Shaver Lake, Bass Lake, Coarsegold, Northfork and Big Creek have all been devastated. But they are all well more than a hundred miles away from Coalinga and there's millions of acres of well irrigated farm land between the two.
