China dominates the Australia lithium suppliers, it hardly dominates Tier 1 battery supply. China has one Tier 1 battery supplier out of six. Korea & Japan dominate Tier 1 battery cathodes. Two US lithium companies and one Chinese company are Tesla’s key lithium suppliers. They can produce in China but also have production of lithium hydroxide in the US. While I appreciate Australia would like to move to higher value spots in the battery supply chain, facts need to govern the conversation.
