Welcome to the Wonderful World of Amway.

The formula these folks have might as well be water looking at the Vitamin-Mineral formulas.

Most functional beverages are marketing BS. But as you know, NBEV is a NASDAQ traded company. I think they have a $250M run-rate last I looked.

Two similar beverage companies jump to mind: CEHL and GLUC.

GLUC sells a single product: GLUCODOWN. Helps in maintenance of the blood sugar for diabetics and pre-diabetics, a growing market. Have customers in Amazon, Walmart, and recently CVS Pharmacies. Maybe has a $1M run-rate based on latest record quarter. Valuation in the $20M range. Basically a one-man operation, a so-so (but much improved) share structure, and some science (but no patents) to back up their medical claim.

CEHL sells a thermogenic drink. A drink that will produce negative calories if consumed before exercise. The formula originated from the CEO at GNC. One of the prime investors is Russell Simmons of DefJam. Sounds weird but true. Unsolicited, he brought in a group of investors that include his 6'2" Asian ex-wife Kimora, Flo Rida (featured Celsius product in his video
), and some dude known as the Asian Warren Buffett. They are up to $100M in product sales and a $1B market cap. The exit strategy from the beginning with this company was to get big enough to be annoying and the get bought out.
