That's good math, but we need a massive amount of batteries nationally just to support the electrical grid which in no way could carry the electricity needed to support all vehicles being electric. We need batteries for the grid to support batteries for the cars. Batteries, batteries, batteries - and those are mammoth 'flow batteries' weighing tons at this point in evolution.

I suspect you're thinking of GE's Carousel of Progress at Disneyland (below) showing the many ways GE has made our lives better with electric appliances. When I was in Kindergarten we lived not far from Disneyland in Anaheim and I could watch the nightly fireworks from my bedroom. My Grandparents were Disney shareholders and if you went to the annual meeting they handed out books of ticket. So my Grandmother took us to Disneyland every Wednesday and we could go on two rides and have lunch at Carnation.

The 'free markity' Cal-ISO cult was banging their begging bowl just last month asking major battery array owners in California for electricity to meet demand during the current hot weather.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/03/business/energy-environment/california-electricity-blackout-battery.html

When former San Diego Mayor Republican Pete Wilson became Governor he proposed PG&E and Southern California Edison sell-off ALL of their power plants and California could buy surplus electricity from the Western US grid. Of course Pete Wilson got his free-markity brainstorm from Enron.

Los Angeles and our DWP opted out of this delusional scheme. Cal-ISO is short of electricity every time the entire western US experiences a heat wave and every time one of their contracted plants goes off line. They simply refuse to contract for enough stand-by power because Cal-ISO was supposed to free-markity mo'free don't you know.

Cal-ISO at a minimum needs battery arrays bad and the cost of this experience is going to upset San Diego, Orange County and Silicon Valley who opted for this libertarian experience.

DWP installed battery arrays when they added a large solar power 'farm'.
