OT -- this headline reminds me, many years ago, we rented a house on Martha's Vineyard before all the rentals had WiFi. Cell service was terrible then (hasn't changed much, so far as I know). Every morning, I would take my blackberry, put it in a small bag, attach the bag to the rope on the flagpole in front of the house, and raise it to the top. I would leave it there for 10 minutes and then retrieve it with my messages.
