Hard to know exactly what went down here. I assume LP knows what she is doing in buying this stuff, and I assume Corning knows what they are doing in dropping it.

I could see two rational explanations.

1) It is a bit of a niche product and only of much value to somebody with a focus like LP.

2) It is a marginal product in the space and Corning saw selling it was not worth the effort, while LP saw using it was an inexpensive step towards closed system.

Maybe other explanations, don't know.
