My heart occasionally skips beats, palpitations, and it's almost always caused by low magnesium and/or potassium levels, have a DS containing both I take when I feel dehydrated or I get palpitations. They're quite rare these days - were much more frequent when I was playing sports all year long because excessive sweating and serious exercise (b-ball and soccer) causes the loss of both minerals. Older people tend to get dehydrated because they don't drink enough (or any) water - just coffee or tea with meals and that's it - happened to my Dad a couple years ago and it put him in the hospital.
