Hi Rose ...unfortunately the Fire Capts situation is extremely critical .
Increased inflammation is NOT what they want .
I see they are adding Lasix

- Lasix (furosemide) is a loop diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt. This allows the salt to instead be passed in your urine. Lasix is used to treat fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a kidney disorder such as nephrotic syndrome.



So my guess ( my wife has some Covid patients ) is they are very concerned about organ failure. I didn't see an update on his blood pressure or O2 levels
Vent at 60% simply means they are relying on the ECMO to do all / most of the work ...as his lungs are very badly damaged .

I don't think we should take this case as an example of wether or not RLF-100 works . For this patient it really was a last ditch effort ...after the previous last ditch effort ( ECMO )

Just my lay opinion . I'm not an MD ...just married to some one that treats Covid patients .
